Tenho amigos surdos que ja apanharam da policia pq como nao conseguiram se comunicar, os policiais pensaram que eles estavam bêbados e drogados.

Officer Anaya has a skill set that has proven very valuable to our patrol officers on many occasions. Officer Anaya’s parents are both deaf and he learned American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with them. Today, Officer Anaya was able assist a nurse at Madera Community Hospital in determining symptoms for a child who came into the ER. The mother of the child Jovita, is only able communicate using ASL. In this video you will see Officer Anaya using ASL to communicate with the mother and relay that information to the nurse. Jovita was very thankful for Officer Anaya’s assistance and was gracious enough to allow us to post the video of Officer Anaya going above and beyond the normal call of duty. 3512
